Graduation Today

Today was graduation for my nine Pathfinders Working Together Aboriginal students.
They wore caps and gowns to honor their achievement. These are students who have struggled with additions, they all have parole officers or social workers they report to and none of them have come from a healthy family situation. Their life stories are heart breaking.

I was priveleged to work with them for the past 6 months as their facilitator teaching them life and employment skills. Now the program is ending because our funding has been given to an Aboriginal organization.

A sad day. So, tomorrow I will get together with them for one final celebration. Then I must look for work again.

Terry is starting a new adventure. On Sunday he will begin renovating a home he plans to flip for resale in a month. He's already told me we won't see him for the next month! This is something he has wanted to do for quite some time and he has a business partner that's helping him make it happen. We'll keep you posted.

Michelle, I'm sure those students have been blessed by working with you and will deeply miss you! You are so good with youth. And wow, go Terry!

Cool Michelle! I think that's great that you both have found such great jobs that you can throw yourself into. And flipping houses sounds like a great line of work for Terry. I wish he could come fix up our house! Take care.

Hi Terry and Michelle,
Good to read your blog and get caught up! We formed a house flipping business with Cork and Judy and flipped our first house last fall. Great learning experience with the first house! So have fun and take picture as you go!
